So confused. Even if the dog was dangerous and had to be put down, you go to a veterinarian. I lived in the (very very rural) Mojave Desert in the early 80s. We had to put our dog to sleep. We went to the vet. No bullets required. Nobody has needed to euthanize their dog with a gun in a long time.

I live in the 'burbs, so not sure if bear spray is needed or not. I'm old, so ear buds are something I avoid in general, but I really really prefer the natural sounds on a forest/mountain hike to whatever might be on my playlist. Agree on the pull of forests, especially forests on mountains

I bought a bag of True Grit. I've heard a lot about Robusta coffee, but never found a place that sold it in a reasonable size and reasonable price. My wallet can handle a $16 experiment. Thanks for the tip.
