For them, those items you mentioned are serious policy positions. By eliminating everyone not like them, they truly believe the world would be a better place.

Reagan began a major downward slide for a lot of things in this country, but even he would be aghast at what the GOP is doing now. And they do it in his name.

In Australia, the Liberal Party is a misnomer. They are anything but Liberal and are, indeed the counterpart of the GOP. In England it is the Tory Party you can go ahead and dislike. The are very much like the GOP, and getting worse. Not sure there is a Tory party in Australia.

Disagree. Osteen doesn't practice Christianity. He just says he does. And Carter is a good Christian because he does also, not practice, but actually lives Christianity.

Agree fully. There are those, unfortunately, who don't see Putin as an existential danger to democracy. Many of those, actually, are also a threat to our democracy. Looking at you Tucker, and you Trump, and you McCarthy.

Would be nice if FEMA could help the residents of the area as well, but GOP governor DeWine won't ask for the help. The only plausible reasons why he wouldn't tend to reflect negatively on him.

FWIW, Trump is loving this. The more people that jump in, the better for him. He won the nom in 2016 because there were so many candidates that his 30-35% of the vote would make him the primary winner.

Back then the NRA was primarily a gun safety organization, promoting proper use of guns and was in favor of things like assault weapon bans. Now it's basically an arm of gun and ammunition manufacturers. Even worse is that there are some newer organizations that believe the NRA is too liberal.
