Oxpecker resting in the safety of a rhinoceros' snout. Oxpeckers are also known as "rhino guards." The bird's hissing call acts as a warning when other animals-including human hunters are approaching.

#Poetry
the melody
was so mellifluent
that we tended
not to hear the words
but slowly
the parents listened
to the cries
of the dying children
to the echoes
of father's anger
to the tears
born of
a mother's goodbye
the lyric of children
dreaming to be
free

In response to Steve Marmel.
I don't follow back much, mainly because more than 30 follows makes my timeline nearly impossible to manage, but also because I like to read a very diverse group of opinions/views/topics. I mostly use the Explore tab when I'm on here expressly for that reason.

It is exactly how I have been using Spoutible since the beginning. (And, yeah, the Read More button on the explore tab has finally died). I too have been using less cussing. More civilized place so we can use our big words here.

Highly recommend Nadine B. Harris, MD's "The Deepest Well": How our bodies can be imprinted by ACEs, adverse childhood experiences like abuse, neglect, parental addiction, mental abuse. Childhood adversity changes our biological systems & lasts a lifetime. She doesn't even touch on shootings.

For the most part, posting on #Spoutible feels like having a warm discussion with friends, whereas the bird app felt like trying to drop a piece of bacon on a hot pan without getting splattered with grease.

FYI: I’m far too old, and way too tired (y’all see what time I sign off this Beluga), for men to slide into my DMs. This isn’t Tinder, pal. Now, good night for real this time, Spoutonians. 😂

Since then my tweets have been suppressed, it’s a waste land.

Hi #newbie !
You may be hanging back, deciding whether to engage. I get it - "Yet *another* social media site to deal with?"
But, at least so far... this one's different.
Feel free to post a "Hello world!" spout. Feel free to reply to this one! Get started.
I think you'll like the engagement.

Although is not perfect, I'm sure it save me a few hours of work by providing organized and concised information that I would have spent a good amount of time putting together.
10/10 will try again
