With the end of the Public Health Emergency, the CDC has removed the COVID transmission map from their website.

This is how you manufacture the disappearance of a pandemic.

As of May 11, 2023, COVID-19 Community Levels (CCLs) and COVID-19 Community Transmission Levels are no longer calculatable; associated visualizations have been removed from COVID Data Tracker. The “COVID-19 Integrated County View” tab has been renamed “COVID-19 Vaccinations by County.” County-level hospitalization data will be available at COVID-19 Hospitalizations, Deaths, and Emergency visits by Geographic Area.
The last update to this page will be made on May 11, 2023. On June 15, 2023, this page will be removed from COVID Data Tracker, and a new page displaying updated vaccination data will be available. National and state level data will continue to be reported at CDC COVID Data Tracker: Vaccine Confidence and COVID VaxView.

Hospitals are no longer required to report hospital-acquired COVID cases to the CDC, as the US goes into full #COVID denial.

Number of Data Elements. The CDC will reduce the number of data elements that hospitals must report from 62 to 44. Specifically, CDC will make the following data fields optional for federal reporting:

#LOngCOVID patients are walking out of studies because doctors are refusing to wear a mask. All patients have the right to access healthcare safely. Healthcare workers have the responsibility to do no harm.

We just walked out and quit the study today. Stanford medical dropped all masking requirements and the researchers running the long-Covid paxlovid study have stopped masking while tending to long covid participants. It’s frankly abhorrent, selfish behavior, and not only does it demonstrate a complete lack of regard and understanding for the illness in question, in my opinion it calls into question the legitimacy of the entire study. We’ve been traveling hundreds of miles for months in order to try to participate in their study and provide THEM with data about the illness, and this is what they think of us. Just want to make everyone aware in case you also have the misfortune of being a participant.
EDIT: Aside from the obvious lack of regard for the safety and well being of their patients/subjects, I should point out that this is also just a terrible choice for the study. Want to know how t...

The CDC is saying their superspreading event is no big deal because COVID is everywhere.

Yet they also canceled trainings, paid for isolation, staff have access to tests, treatment etc.

COVID may seem like no big deal if you have resources, but this isn’t the case for many.

A CDC official said the agency was “aware” of several confirmed cases that could be connected to the conference, but cautioned “the cases we’re aware of at this time should not be referred to as an ‘outbreak.’”
“These cases are reflective of general spread in the community. It’s not news that public health employees can get COVID-19,” CDC’s Kristen Nordlund wrote in an email.
Nordlund said that conference leaders publicly announced the potential cases in the closing session of the conference, canceled an in-person training, emailed all officers with current CDC guidance and offered to extend the hotel stays of sick attendees who needed to isolate.

We have now reached the absurdist phase of #COVID denial where hospitals are literally asking patients to stay home when they are sick because they just can't be bothered to require masks anymore.

Since early 2022, the Biden administration has required private insurers and Medicare to cover up to eight at-home tests a month.
But once the public health emergency lifts, most people with private insurance will most likely have to pay out of pocket for those tests — unless the kits come from the dwindling federal supply, said an author of the two reports, Jennifer Kates, a senior vice president at KFF.
"For the most part, health plans aren't probably going to cover it. Some might, but most won't," Kates said.
People with Medicare and those who are uninsured will most likely be charged for at-home tests, as well. However, some people with Medicare Advantage, which covers additional services, may still get at-home tests covered depending on their plans.
Under the American Rescue Plan Act, people on Medicaid can get free at-home tests for about a year after the public health emergency ends. After that, coverage for at-home tests will vary by state.
