I admitted to coworkers today that I’m dealing with severe depression, and I’m scared about how they will view me now. But, I can’t change how I’m feeling unless I get help, and that means being honest with my ecosystem.

I began ordering my groceries so I wouldn’t be an anxious ball of nerves at the grocery store and suffer that worry. With inflation now, I have to go in person.

So, a mini-vent here in what I’m calling The Safe Place. Since I moved to my *pretty liberal* suburb of Chicago, I cannot go to a grocery or community center without being asked if I work there and/or where are the kids that I’m apparently nannying. I always have on a headphone and my purse.
