The rage & hysteria are why I read The Palmer Report. His drumbeat is that we need to be clear eyed & focused on winning elections up & down the ballot. He keeps me calm. All the MSM’s ratings-centered “News” & the shenanigans from the GOP/MAGA are just that - distractions. STAY FOCUSED Y’ALL!

Empty on $$$, morals, ideas. HOW can anyone think Biden is the poorer choice?? CNN talked to voters in the most MAGA county in the US - many agreed that TFG is abominable… but still better than Biden. HOW??? 🤪

That’s interesting. Did you hear the NPR interview with the S. Carolina coach today? She was philosophical, comparing the WNBA at 28 years with the NBA at that “age”, but hopeful that momentum will continue to build. And very happy that women are finally being recognized.

This realization is sobering & it’s all too easy to get caught up in anticipation of our final years. What will my life be like if I outlive my husband? Will I get to see my grandsons grow up? Will my health hold out? It’s a lot. If it helps you to share, by all means do! Meanwhile, live well!

We weren’t unusual but we were fortunate to get jobs at all. Teachers were being laid off right & left. Scientific research jobs were very hard to come by (my husband is a research physicist) & funding was drying up.

Don’t cha though? We had one a few years ago that imitated a dripping faucet. Took me a while to realize what was dripping!

We counted every penny. Luckily, neither of us are big consumers. Oh, & I had student loans to pay off but they were very reasonable- not the highway robbery they are today.

At the end of each month we typically had $30 to spare. (We were very THRIFTY!) the first month we bought bean bag chairs from Woolworth’s so we had something to sit on. The next month we bought a vacuum cleaner!! Work clothes were nearly impossible.

I’m 73, born in 1951, so no work experience in the 50s. My first job was in 1976 as a teacher in a small town parochial school. Full teaching load was 7 classes/day for $7,000/9 months. I taught 2 classes, with pay prorated accordingly. Fortunately, my husband also had a job.
