I have noticed the same anti-Garland fearmongering in the past couple of days and I do not like it. Y'all should know that Garland has been at this since spring 2021 when he actually was able to clean out the DOJ from Trump loyalists, and hitting the ground running for J6.

Y'all need to remember that the feds will not update on cases that they're investigating, and will keep said investigations secret for the protection of even the targets to make sure that their rights are observed, and to protect witnesses from intimidation.

Garland (along with the J6 committee) has unearthed a ton of evidence from people behind the scenes whom weren't active participants, but observers. They have no reason to lie for/take the fall for Trump.

Also keep in mind in 2022 when Trump ran his mouth saying he was going to run for Office, Garland handed it off to Jack Smith who was able to get lightning fast results. Smith would not have taken the case if there was nothing there. This is the one thing to remember.

I'm also getting the feeling that some of y'all are purposfully ignoring all of the convictions (including of Rhodes, and Tarrio, and the top guns of the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys). Also you are trying to ignore the hundreds of convictions that they were able to secure prior.

Keep in mind that the punishments must fit the crime. We already know that the feds strategy is to get the smaller fish first and work their way up to the big fish. You KNOW this will take time.

Also keep in mind that Garland, nor Smith, nor any other prosecutor owes us a blow-by-blow update on open investigations. They should not, and cannot litigate the case in public.

In total, you need to remember we're at the same time period where things in Watergate were starting to resolve itself. However, unlike Gerald Ford, President Biden is staying back allowing the DOJ to be the people's attorney unlike the previous admin.

Finally as to why the DOJ was forced to defend Trump in the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial...you must put your blame on Bill Barr for inserting himself into a private matter. The DOJ up to that point hasn't interfered with a civil suit against the president, not even Jones vs. Clinton.

So, let's all calm down and remember...we want this to be done correctly so there's no fatal errors, or technicalities that could get charges acquitted, or dismissed on appeal.

I also think the DOJ has been doing work in other areas (like investigating local police departments' treatment of race, police violence, civil rights, etc.) that may not be pet issues of some of the "do something" people but that are still very important as well.

Yes!! All of this… and I think it’s over 1,000 convictions with only 2 acquittals so far on J6

More should understand this. TBH, not long ago most folks couldn’t tell you who the US Atty. General was, and respected the fact that the DOJ operated w/ utmost confidentiality. TFG turned it into a circus, and set a narrative that he was head clown. Now, folks expect more of the same kabuki 🎭.

I thought from the beginning that the sheer workload the 1/6 crimes entailed - the largest crime.in US history - provided the rationale to let the 1/6 Committee handle the leadership investigation while the DOJ started with the bottom.

I am not aware of any cleaning out of Trump loyalists. Who got chopped? I'm not doubting you, just wanting to know.

New presidential administrations replace the leadership at the DOJ offices all around the country and in DC. Staff attorneys usually keep their jobs, but several layers of leadership at each office get replaced.

Same, it seems to have started to seep in here, and I really do not like it. Especially when it's so over the top and they know better.
