Thinking about how so many people play down the need for libraries. I know not everyone uses them...but if you want to encourage reading they're absolutely vital because books are expensive. SO many people can't afford to constantly be buying books.

This is why libraries are hyper important

Growing up in Guyana 🇬🇾 South America I ❤️💛 the Library. Moving 🇺🇸in middle school the library was a Half a block away I spent so much time there. Fast forward to now. I spend lots of time in libraries because of of work.

when I've visited new cities and I have any sort of time, visiting a library or three is always on my list of things to see

only in the last decade have I cut down visiting the library 2-3 times a week

Our local libraries have been renovating and adding these cool locally themed play spaces. It’s such a cool way to set the tone of the library being a community space and getting little psyched about going to the library.

We read so many books in my house growing up and would never have had the opportunity without the library.

our bookshelves are full. there is no room for more books, so i’m at my library every couple of weekends with my book list. my local library is on the smaller side, but it’s part of a 15-20 library system, so i get whatever book i want via inter library loan/1

Libraries have so much more than books! Books are great, but check out the offerings from your local library... you will be amazed what you can access.

That's why I support the mini free libraries where books don't have to be returned back.

That's a really good point. All about access, and libraries can be intimidating.

Books. Records. Movies. Community events.

And when I was a teenager I hung around in the library because it was just a place I could go and be on my own that was quiet and pleasant and non-chaotic.
