Putting safety features behind a paywall is pure fuckery. This is your gentle reminder that 19 March is a good day to make #Spoutible your new home.

I wish the news organizations would find their way here. They still think it will get better at twitter. It won't. Elon is creating a hostage situation by placing 2 step verification behind a paywall.

So, he's trying to run off anyone who is currently remaining to make a couple extra bucks?
I guess making a 44 BILLION dollar purchase and then running it into the ground wasn't the most fiscally responsible move, huh?
He's learned well from 45-nickel and dime the lemmings to keep yourself above w

I suspect running Twitter to ground was the exact mandate. They can’t have a free source of truthful information and discussion for the masses. They couldn’t control the rhetoric.

It's actually a good thing. SMS 2FA just shouldn't be used and this will force users to use a 2FA App

More importantly, Spoutible doesn't have 2FA at all.

Spoutible should add 2FA before we start pointing fingers at Twitter for their 2FA changes.

I'm not a fan of EM, but I'm ok with this specific move. No one should use text message based 2FA (which requires sharing your phone #) when the app method is available. I use a 2FA app with all my accounts when available. On that note, is 2FA app feature coming any time soon to Spoutible @cbouzy ?

As Napoleon said: "never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake". So Elon is killing his ego-project because of his greed? Awesome. I will rejoice watching whatever new ideas "genious CEO" Elmo comes up to monetize the bird app.

Elmo is never getting any of my money, not for twitter, not for tesla, or any other thing he may want to sell me. I moved to an authenticator app as soon as I got this message and I blocked Elmo's tweets so his ego algorithim adjustment will not make me see his dumb thoughts and takes anymore.

The security key is like a password twitter will give you that you can use to recover your account. The key is only shown to you once and never again so you need to securly save it
