An old poll? It was a survey taken by nearly 30,000 people a month ago. And I also talked about the policy during a Twitter Space and took questions about it. And yes, I make the final decision about what policies and features are implemented. That is what CEOs do.

1/He didn’t “put the question out to the community”. I’ve been here since #Spoutible’s public launch but missed this poll - I’m assuming it was in the soft launch?

The community has changed (it’s not self-selected anymore, for one) and making policy from an old poll is not ideal.

I've boiled this down to 'you can't make everybody happy' because you ran a few polls & continued to answer questions about different policies we wanted. It sucks, but it's not your fault they never saw anything.

Well here goes my first block. I do civil discourse but I do not do childish drama. The fight is about porn and sex worker ads. Seriously.

I don't think I missed a single poll. It was fascinating to see the ideas for the site evolve with each poll-- the name, the logo, the policies. Anyone who was interested in shaping the site could participate (I'm still in awe that a nobody like me got to take part). There were 30000 of us? Amazing!

I read every post Chris made leading up to this on twitter. He took several polls asking what the community wanted, on twitter. I pre registered and was also emailed all of the polls to take. If you missed it that's not his fault.

I voted against allowing porn on the site. That did not mean I wanted you to kick off my queer disabled sex worker friends for sharing a link to their work in a non-explicit tweet that clearly discloses it's 18+.

This stance prioritizes banning the sexy over the safety of marginalized sex workers

"If you don't like it, get off my site" is a really non-inclusive thing to tell marginalized people who want to keep porn off the platform but may link to it so they can pay the rent.

You asked questions on Twitter, you sent multiple emails to interested parties who took a minute to sign up for information and/or surveys about wants/needs/desires, you did podcasts with people like Bob Cesca.

I don't see how you could have been any clearer or more informative/responsive.

Considering 30k took the poll and at least 100k were needed for the social media site to be created, and im sure there are more than that signed up now, that doesnt even represent the majority. It's also not like we received a copy of the exact policy for peer review to point out potential issues.

This is the internet. If anyone is that intent on wanting to display what they do with their penises and vaginas, which is perfectly fine if you want to, there's a bazillion other sites for that. Display them there.

As one of the 30,000 that responded I 100% support his TOS. His house, his rules. People who don’t like it are free to leave. We’ll be just fine without them.

I'm not glued to Christopher but I did see the poll and voted - I also heard some of the Twitter Space.
I'm sure there were plenty I missed but then that's on me.
I don't understand people coming on here and complaining about terms that were put in place before they joined.

With all due respect, not everyone follows you on twitter & was here prior to the public launch. Again this is fracturing the community into “people who knew about Spoutible before it was cool” and… the rest of us I guess?

I'm not a prude, and I think there's a solid difference between Harlequin Romance and porn. That said I don't understand why it is a hill you want to fight on. There are plenty of other places online to find it. To me porn is just boring. It's a very poor substitute 4 the real thing.

HOW did you get SO ridiculously entitled? This is NOT a democracy, it's a privately owned platform like every other. He did MUCH more than any other platform to hear & include peoples views in the PLANNING & Beta Testing stages - that doesn't mean he OWES you anything! If you don't like it GO!!!

Okay. Let's start by me noting that I'm a big fan of democracy, and I'm on board with the rules (perhaps with examples?) being as they are.

Is there a point at which we would have another poll to reconsider this? Good democracies reconsider things as constituencies change.

TY for everything.
