Though the more I read about truffles, the more I find that Oregon is the best place for them over there. You are lucky to live in such a gourmand's paradise!

I guess I am lucky, and the #truffle is not the only fungus among us (sorry). Oregon also has #matsutake --highly prized in Japan--and many other mushroom varieties like #chanterelles and #porcini . 🍄

Do you go mushroom hunting? Do you have places to go where you can verify if the mushrooms are edible or not?

No, I don't, but I'd love to learn to forage in the woods after retiring.

I think there are some resources - a local organization that will help identify your mushrooms - but their availability is limited.

Yes, chanterelles are wonderful! Lion's mane are fun, and I like to grill king oysters.
