I have made myself queasy channeling up old memories, yes. I've felt more urge to fling myself out the window in that case, not necessarily the laptop.

That makes sense. This instance is something I witnessed as a naive kid. It didn't happen to me. I didn't quite grasp what was happening in the moment, but in hindsight ... with all I've learned since ... reliving it for the first time. Ugh. It creates a necessary conflict for the novel, though.
