If you are not a card carrying member of your local library, please go join before the end of the year. Like so many things, library budgets are determined by numbers. Libraries have so much to offer and need our support more than ever.

I have cards for 3 libraries that are on different resource sharing networks, and use Libby to borrow e-books.

I needed the reminder because I’ve just moved to a new community and haven’t yet gotten out there to get my library card.

Libraries are awesome! I follow a couple of young African-American librarians on Threads/IG and they post fun, heartwarming videos spreading library joy. Texans: if you have a library card, check out the State Library's website for Gale databases and Udemy, a free learning platform with many courses

You need your local library card to create an account but there are Gale databases on everything from car repair to gardening. The Udemy courses are interesting and you can use them if your employer requires CE classes. So. Much. Free. Stuff. All because you have a library card.

I’ve been in love with the library since I was six years old. That’s a lot of years ago and I have a library book on my desk right now.

Public libraries offer lots of free digital content rentals to members. Movies, music, audiobooks, eBooks, even new releases, can be rented via app anytime. ❤️ my 📚

I am a card carrying member of 5 libraries! Even though I can only borrow their ebooks through Libby. Well, that’s actually why so many. More choice.

I remember my mom taking me to the Oakland public library frequently as a young kid. She taught me how to look up old articles and research stuff decades before there was Google.
Now I love the library for other reasons. But I utilize it multiple times every month.

Toss a few coins in the bucket if you can too. I personally get more out than I give. Plus my local saved an historic building that could have been turned into high end condos. It was a brutal fight but they won.
