“This is about hatred of Jewish people and a denial of Israel’s right to exist and a rejection of their rumored, historic peace deal with Saudi Arabia, and it is an astonishing moral failure for anyone to suggest otherwise.”

With all due respect, that's the same kind of semantic cuteness that helped Americans get behind the wholesale destruction of Iraq. Israel has a right to exist, defend itself, and retaliate - especially after this horror. But let's not pretend they have magic bombs that only kill Hamas fighters.

It's not semantic cuteness. It's rule of law.

Referring to all people in Gaza as terrorists is now "rule of law?" How'd you arrive at that conclusion?

Rule of law would be abiding by the Geneva Conventions and not collectively punishing an entire people or dropping bombs and laying siege to civilians, half of whom are children.

Saying Israel only targets terrorists shows that you don’t know what’s been happening in Gaza/the West Bank this year.
