I wish we lived in a world where this was really the worst thing an elected official could do. On a modern scale, from 0 (wearing a tan suit) to 100 (overturning democracy, setting armed citizens on their neighbors, disbursing military secrets like Halloween candy), I'd say this is maybe a 12.

It looks like he pulled the fire alarm. I wonder what the hell he was thinking. Oh well, he pled guilty so it's over. Though, I still wonder what he was thinking.

I could see it being an accident, though it is really hard to imagine pulling a bright red fire alarm lever like i am imagining.

Looks like he accidentally triggered the alarm and then panicked. Everyone is making more out of it than it really is.

He’s pleaded guilty and paid the fine. Why belabour it?

He took the sign to read and pushed the alarm cause that is what the sign said. So what

this just leaves me with more questions. Under what circumstance would he decide to take the sign? what did the sign even say? Confused!

It was big of him to plead out but totally unnecessary. Would not have been an issue if was Bobo.

Who effing cares. There are bigger problems in Congress and some guy doing something stupid ain't one of them. A MAGA super conservative Christo-fascist just got put in the no. 2 position for president.

Better than trying to overturn an election but yeah not good. That's humanity for you. In many ways, we are all ghosts to each other. Discerning the workings of the human mind is a mystery. I would say a lot of us are guilty of ill behavior if we are intellectually honest with ourselves.

He first tried to get out. I assume he would have gone out if it had opened. It doesn’t look to me like his goal was to pull the alarm. He said he was confused about the sign. In other times, this would be called a mistake, not a crime.

He pled guilty and now has to pay a fine and he got 3 month's probation.
Sad to say but even the 1st video I saw looked suspicious, this one even more so. He takes one sign with him drops the second, then pushes the alarm and walks away without checking the doors to see if they would open.

Did he ever try to push the door again?

That matters. If he did then his pulling the alarm was an attempt to try to get out.

If not, then sorry, he seems to have pulled the alarm just to pull the alarm, which he should be prosecuted and maybe get probation and a fine or whatever is appropriate
