Cloudflare released a long statement outlining what happened. The level of incompetence at the Flexential data center is mind blowing.🤯

I just read it a second time and realized it starts with ‘POST MORTEM’.
Meanwhile here on Spoutible we are concerned with ghost notifications. Puts it in perspective.

Flexential. That lone night shift employee.
This goes on their resume as one week, worst job ever.

Poor guy. When "What's the worst that could happen?" isn't a rhetorical question.

Had a manager once who referred something like this as a bad/good incident.
bad that it happened & interrupted production/delivery.
good that it happened to show a weakness in the system which needs to be fixed & created searches to find any other potential weaknesses.

It seems that Cloudflare is, well, vaporizing and burning itself. 🙂

Good on them for transparency and taking much of the blame for their lack of consistency across all services. Been through a couple of these in my career (had a pipe burst above server racks and flood raised floor in a DC once). Poor new solo overnight employee. Give them a bonus for the stress
