You’ve been on Spoutible for months, you’ve curated your timeline to include accounts that speak to your varied interests. You follow news people, silly people, thoughtful people, craft people, joke people, gardening people.

Because you like all those things.

You’ve followed accounts that are popular, because you like to know what’s going on. You follow smaller accounts that make you happy. You don’t hate-follow, how silly.

Sometimes you want to see all of Spoutible, that’s why you hang out on Explore. Sometimes, you want to see the people you’ve chosen to follow, that’s why you hang out on your Timeline.

But sometimes, it’s all just too much.

Scenario 1: It’s election day in the USA. You want to know what’s going on, you want to be informed. But something’s getting in the way. There’s a word game going on. It feels like everyone is talking about it, and all you want is some darn news, and people talking about that news.

It’s not that you don’t like the people messing with the cloud, just not today.

Solution: Make a list of people you follow who are talking about the election, and scroll that.

Scenario 2: You’ve had a terrible day. Just awful. The world seems like a grim place and you don’t see it getting better.

You don’t want to read about climate change today. You don’t want to hear about that awful man. You’ll fight for democracy tomorrow.

Today, you want happy things only, a Timeline Cleanse.

Solution: Make a list of people you follow who are posting recipes, Lego, award winning roses, the daily picture theme, and playlists and scroll that.

Scenario 3: You follow a lot of people, and you followed them all for a reason. But some users are much more active than others. Your whole timeline seems to be made up of people who were on that list of the 30 busiest accounts, and you’re missing posts from some of your quieter friends.

Solution: Go look at who you follow and figure out whose posts you’re missing out on, put them on a list and scroll that.

Your friends will appreciate it.

Scenario 4: Every time you log into Spoutible, you go check out the profiles of 5 accounts. These people really matter to you.

You want to make sure that you see everything they’ve posted. Searching for each account is annoying. It’s not hard, it’s just a little time consuming.

A list is the anti-Mute.

It’s a way to make sure that you’re seeing everything you want to see, when you want to see it.

It's a solution to the common gripe "There's too much XYZ on my feed".

Something, something, you are the algorithm.
