Does anyone seeing this spout own or have experience with a BEV (battery electric vehicle)?

I've been planning to buy one (which one? who knows) and am interested in people's experiences, e.g., charging, road trips, etc. Thanks

A couple years ago we rewired the garage to 100 amp service and installed a dryer outlet (60 amp) near the garage door to allow for EV charging. I've never used the outlet so I hope it works. It seems that public charging may still be problematic, which is not good for road trips.

Depending on which car you get you’ll probably have to get a different “face” on your outlet (not the same plug as a dryer or RV) but you should be fine. I had a non-licensed guy put the outlet in my house and it fried the circuit box! It’s fixed now and I THINK it’s a 50A but could be wrong.

We used a NEMA 14-50, standard dryer outlet. Changing that out should be no problem if needed, even to switch to a manufacturer's charger. We didn't want to leave the circuit unterminated.

You didn't say how long the "rest stops" for charging needed to be on your road trip. How cumbersome?

It took a few days to get used to; it’s a totally different rhythm. It charges faster from
