Texas is the only state with the legal right to secede without a war. They were at one time an independent country. When they joined the union they got it in writing that they could quit if they want. They also have the right to split into multiple states.

@theoldguy 's right abt Texas' unique right to split itself into up to 5 states! Came close, but it's increasingly unlikely that it will happen now. Search The Smithsonian, History of Now, "For More Than 150 Years, Texas Has Had the Power to Secede... From Itself," March 2, 2017, by Erick Trickey.

I hope we got it in writing that we could kick them out of the Union when we want.

When were they an independent country? When they stole land, violated agreements with Mexico and murdered anyone who got in their way --- especially the Texas Rangers?

It’s a myth, Texas can’t secede.

Hopefully, the voters reject any motion to vacate the US. Or split into two.
