I wrote a thread discussing how remarks on Biden's age subtly serve as coded language concerning VP Harris. Following the State of the Union address, there's a noticeable shift with voices now directly urging VP Harris to step aside.

"But Biden's age" is a dog whistle for "but that Black woman could be president." Biden and Trump are nearly the same age, and both are known for making gaffes, but journalists and pundits would have you believe Biden is considerably older than Trump and more at risk of not being able to do the job.

This is a point I made in an earlier spout about #MichelleObama being REPEATEDLY asked if she would consider running for President.

Not only does #NoMeanNo ,
but the question itself impugns #KamalaHarris .

They don’t want Michelle Obama either, it’s all a gaslit smokescreen. It’s akin to many in the Beltway declaring how popular Hillary Clinton was…that is, until she actually decided to run for president. Then it was that ghastly woman who apparently ‘nobody’ liked. They don’t fool me.

What you describe is what I've named the "Abrams Paradox," after how Stacey Abrams was done so dirty. I'm STILL mad about that.

AKA ‘I’d vote for a woman tomorrow except THAT ONE!’ And yes, I’m vexed about what happened to Abrams’ gubernatorial aspirations as well.

To this day I don't understand how Georgia can deliver Biden a victory, AND get two new Dems in a special election, yet not bring Abrams along. And these people were busy shitting on Kamala Harris (who actually won statewide). Just complete bullshit. Don't get me started. The whole primary was ugly.

Willing to use her labor, yet won’t back her for a leadership position apparently. Depressing how I wasn’t at all surprised. I have personally experienced this in professional/career settings.

The ugly truth of it is Black women are seen as vote mules, and they are always the ones that have to save us! "Save us Black women!" yet they won't vote like Black women.

Oh this, I know! It’s so insulting. Imagine how much we would all benefit if everything weren’t treated like some zero sum game.
