#DailyPictureTheme #hurry
When I was at the thrift store this weekend, I found an old book & picked it up in a hurry. It was only $2.50- I'm guessing because of the poor condition. The recipes written on the pages & the newspaper articles poked inside made me smile. #thriftedtreasures

I've been having such fun flipping through the pages! I'm especially loving all the little handwritten recipes and notes that the previous owner(s) have left. It's incredible. ❤️

I'm so fascinated by it! I'm scared to touch it too much because it's so close to falling apart, but I want to read every single page. I'm definitely going to treasure it!

I was so excited to find it! I would so love to know what beautiful dishes were made from this book. I'd love to know all the stories of the owner(s). There's food all throughout the pages, so I think it was very well used!

What a treasure! I love old cookbooks, they have the best simple recipes. One of mine has recipes for Squirrel Pie and Roast Woodchuck, it's a depression era cookbook with recipes to really stretch the food budget. BTW, I have not tried those particular recipes.

I had a collection of cookbooks dating back to the early 1900s and I finally gave them up a few years ago. I loved looking at them and their quaint way of describing how one would make something. Very non-standard measurements and language!

I wish I knew you back then, I would have bought them from you!
I'm so fascinated and want to read it cover to cover, but it's in such poor shape, I'm afraid it's going to fall apart.

There are so many little splashes of food and dirty fingerprints throughout the pages. It was definitely well used! 🥰
