The quote from communications prez for Lotus - behind “The Hank” station — is a bit revealing (see pic).

I note the timing and context…

Also, starting their “real country” in THE 1990’s cracks me UP. Because as a kid who grew up on 90’s country all they EVER did was complain about how it wasn’t real country, it was too pop. 🙃

It’s very telling. If they’d said pre-2000, you’d have a case for a classic vs. modern split, which a BUNCH of genres do? But 2019? Somebody has their panties in a very specific twist.
