This is why I can honestly say this dude is for real. He truly honors Black culture and what it did for him.

He said it raised him. Powerful words.

He spent basically his entire speech honoring rappers most of that crowd didn't even know.

He didn't have to but somehow he felt....he had to.

Make no mistake about it, Black culture was very hard on him. However, he also understands & respects it was that same culture that set him free in so many other ways.

If 🇺🇸 listened to Black ppl more....you'll hear some things you might not like. Might even piss you off.

But it'll save you...

I have heard plenty of hiphop that I liked but I didn't fully appreciate the genius of the genre until my son had us watch Hiphop Evolution every Sunday together for several months. What a fantastic documentary series that is, and it puts the music right next to the cultural history. Netflix.
