Here's Arizona's 1864 abortion law, taken word for word from Calif's first abortion law.
It's included as part of a section about the crime of poisoning people. It provides an exception for physicians using their professional judgment to save a woman's life. Con artists often killed pregnant women.

Of note: Arizona did *not* use Calif's 1861 revised abortion law, which was much harsher, adding penalties for the woman seeking an abortion and much longer prison sentences.

19th century abortion laws largely started as intending protections for women from unskilled charlatans. That didn't last.
