When you get many positive reactions to a spout and then a negative one, do you respond or let it go?

I don’t let things go easily (or at all) but you’re way nicer than I am.

In the 1 actual conflict I've had here, I tried to start a dialog and the other individual replied I was too stupid to waste his time on. I blocked him and ignore negative responses unless I dont phrase something quite right (autism) and get a number of negative comments, then I sort it out.
