I have also marked an unopened envelope “refused” and put it back in the mail. Need to check if that still does what I hope (make them pay return postage)

It doesn't work in MA. I once had a heated argument with my mail carrier for trying to return to sender all the junk mail we were receiving for a previous tenant . As long as the mailing address is correct, the post office won't take it back because they delivered the mail as addressed. 🙄

I used to do that too, until my Post Mistress told me that their regs say for USPS to just put it in the trash & she said it is up to us to get the companies etc... to stop sending us their chit.

well, we all know how useless & time sucking that is.
