True story. Growing up my dad used to make breakfast every Sunday. He made "North Kakalaki" (North Carolina) eggs. I ate them for years. One day I was at the the grocery store with my mom and she said, go to aisle 9 and get me a can of pork brains. What'chu mean brains? That's what was in the eggs.

Canned pork brains? Seriously??
Yet another delicacy I’ve never had the pleasure of eating.

Yep. I'm sure when my dad's mom made them they were fresh. But fresh pork brains were a little harder to come by in our area at the time. Thus canned pork brains. Honestly, they just tasted like a salty sausage. I thought it was some kind of sausage.

Well, I’ve eaten and enjoyed scrapple, a pork product of which it’s said it contains everything but the oink, so I guess I’ve probably eaten pork brains. So I can check them off the list 🤣😂😋

Not sure if they're considered a delicacy either. My understanding is that it was more like Southern comfort food.
