The decision Mr. Bouzy made that spouts will be propagated by followers rather than algorithms is a very organic, low tech approach that is far superior to any of the algorithms that constantly try to manipulate me elsewhere. It really encourages people to interact and share. It creates community.

I think the splasbacks are based on a spout getting at least 100 likes, but I’m not sure what happens after that. The other place that does have algorithms is the curated tab. I don’t use that one though so I’m not sure how it works.

You don't need to do anything other than follow enough people to make your timeline interesting to you. It's already the basic architecture of Spoutible.
