I'm listening to a presentation about portrayal of medieval world in computer games, and one person is speaking about how religion is removed from the history portrayed. It becomes historically inaccurate. And yet, how could it be portrayed accurately?

I say game designers go for historical accuracy. It might make players interested in reading up on history. 🙂

One of the strange things is that the more effort they put into having accurate material culture (costumes, architecture, etc) the more people assume that they're accurate on everything, and the lack of accuracy in other things (politics, history, religion) becomes a bit more problematic.

Wouldn't it be great to hear positive reviews of a game from a historian? 🙂
