Holy Shit Elon's new TOS says they own anything you post and can use it in any way for any purpose.

y'all really should be deleting those accounts!

Compare TOS to those for DeviantArt. See section 3 of this page:

As I understand it, the ability to transform/modify may be "required" for them e.g. to resize your images for particular UI, screen size, etc. But still, platform rights are often over-broad. Compare with Spoutible's TOS which are broad enough to store-and-show, but don't seem like a "rights grab".

Thanks for this info. So glad I never posted anything on Twitter... Hahahaha... (On the other hand, has anyone compared that to the usual TOS of most sites that allow user content? They all do need some flexible rights to even be able to store and show your posts legally!)

yes but no other site reserves the right to "transform" your content for their use.

that means he can literally put words in your mouth. Imagine him changing a single word but it changes the entire context of the tweet. and then not only can he re-post he can merchandise it.

Hey techies! So I understand that I should lock my twitter account instead of deactivating it, so no one can use my user name - is this correct? Then. what is the absolutely easiest way to scrub the account and delete all activity. I don't need to keep a copy. Thanks techies!

Only way I'd agree to those terms is if I got a decent payout first. Eff that!

well consider deleting - what makes this different from other sites is he is saying he can ALTER your content.

this means he can literally put words in your mouth

he's going to use twitter content for data sets for his AI

not to mention he can take any image (from independent artists) and merchandise it.

this is definitely not the same as before

Seriously! So they can take any work posted on Twitter and “curate” or “transform” it and use it anywhere or anytime they like. So Twitter owns your photos, opinions, art etc and can change them however they like and republish for profit/ deep fakes etc. yikes.
