Today as my husband was working on his tree, he learned someone went to jail at 16. Now we are trying to figure out what the codes mean. It took place in Pierce County, Washington in 1961. The charge was : "Hold For Y G." Fell under criminal code. So, what does that mean?

I'd only be guessing - I have no idea. 60 years ago they arrested and held people for different reasons than today. Sorry.

Might be "hold for youth guidance" but I'd have guessed that back then they'd have called it "juvenile hall" ????????‍♂️

That makes sense. My dad was born in WI, raised near Chicago. #USNavy , #Photojournalism , #Cop , #teacher , #raconteur . He was a professional student. Had a cousin, who traced the family tree back to the mid-1600's. Fascinating, and time consuming!-

I need to learn more. I'm busy changing diapers and playing with dinosaurs, and loving every minute of it!. Research is not my strong suit. ????????
