The thing about this corruption and criminality—George Santos, Clarence Thomas, Rudy Giuliani, Trump—is that it’s so obvious. So brazen. As if there’s no need to hide it.

They want us to know so they can show off that they can. It's all part of the power trip.

A whole political party's just thrown up its hands, given itself up to utter lawlessness and incoherence.

Until they feel the full force of the law why would they care? It has to happen otherwise the US is going to carry on moving away from Democracy towards the chaos want.

The lesson is don’t do 1 or 2 things wrong but do so many wrong things it becomes normal & the media will just dismiss the next wrong thing as Trump being Trump.

There is no need to hide it, because no one is stopping them. Every vote they get is an endorsement for lawlessness.

There IS NO reason to hide it. This has all been drug into the light and very, very little has and will be done about it. Why would they hide?

The Trump presidency opened up the largest can of worms ever. We all knew there was stuff hiding under rugs. Now they are happy to be out in the open.

You complained that Republicans lie as if there’s no need to hide it. The comments are good but missing the central point:

We have it backward. Republicans see brazen lying as *powerful*. "Look what he gets away with!" Lying _helps_ them. That's why Republicans wallow in their endless duplicity.

How is that possible? For the vast majority of American history, corruption like this had to be hidden, rapid job loss would occur if it became public. Now, they seem to revel in the public's inability to do anything about it. Have we truly fallen THIS far?!?

There's no need for CT to hide it since he has lifetime tenure and knows half of congress is unwilling to act, so he shows his middle finger to the other half.

So far, there hasn’t been a need to hide it because there haven’t been any consequences. Trump was indicted, but he’s still going on CNN, golfing, traveling abroad. Until someone actually is held accountable, there will be more and more bold.

As if to say, "everybody does it. Look how broken government is, how can you trust it for anything?"

They don't just not care if we see it, they want it to be seen.
