It's this crap that made me turn my back on democrats. I don't live in a battleground state and vote for the candidate aligned to my priorities for the country (as we should). The last few cycles that was been the Green party and I will never regret those votes.
Khrissy Choate @KhrissyChoate
The DNC has decided not to hold democratic presidential primary debates. This does not upset me. I’m voting for #BidenHarris in 2024. There is nothing the two other so called democratic candidates could say to change my mind. Why are some people taking issue with there being no debates?

Oh FFS... A bunch of brain washed sheep. It's electoral, not popular votes that matter. It's why gore lost, it's why Clinton lost. Gore couldn't even convince his own state to vote for him. But bleating "vote blue no matter who" is worse than a third party vote. People like Sinema win that way.

From one Baroness to another, that’s not how it works. A third party vote is no vote at all. You have to work within the system to change the system.

voting in alignment with "your priorities for the country" is selfish, and the very phrase itself is a contradiction.

Vote as if you are the CEO choosing a manager for your company. Think of other people. Don't vote as if you're choosing the best reflection of yourself in a mirror.

This attitude put Oregon, a non-contested, blue state in the Electoral College, at risk of electing a far-right Republican governor.

Please.

The whole "no primary debates" issue is a load of nonsense. No major party typically sponsors primary challengers when they have an incumbent running.

It's completely normal but the "far left" is trying to make it a thing. It's not a thing.

That's right. We already have a primary winner.

Biden/Harris broke all records for the popular vote.

why would ANYONE want to mess with that winning combination? Especially after his winning legislative record.

Biden is a political genius. We need to tap into that for as long as we can.

OMG. The only reason I didn't block that idiot faster than I did is that I wanted to make sure there wasn't anyone else posting in there that needed to go, too (there was one other; probably more showed up later but I had to leave for work, so block, block, done).

How are you going to respout this and then proudly tell the world that your ignorantly voted for the green party? Stop being so focused on the Royals and wake the fuck up to the people you are hurting in your own damn country. You have a hand in this. Also, you vote with Russia.

Essentially you are saying that you don’t want a democracy and are fine with an authoritarian regime that will take EVERYONES rights away. And you have no thoughts about helping others, selfish and shameful.

One detail you missed: they're fine with taking everyone else's rights as long they (think they) get what they want out of the deal. Selfishus Maximus, I name this subspecies of voter.

We've heard you, but don't you think your stance leads to enabling 3rd party candidates with no chance of winning the ability to siphon votes from a legitimate candidate/incumbent with better chances? I personally agree to the decision of the Democrats, no need to hold any debates. Biden/Harris '24

Until 2016 I would have fully supported your right to vote your priorities. But we no longer have that luxury. This election will determine if we even have another election. Lives are literally on the line. Please give some thought to the consequences before you vote.

Trump and the GOP love people like you. You're willing to throw American democracy away because you don't like how things are going? I have news for you that kind of thinking is how despots stay in power. If you want better, you gotta be better and fight for it instead of appearing foolish.

It's not Democrats vs Republicans in 2024 no matter what the media or whatever Twitter accounts you follow tell you.
It's democracy vs authoritarianism/autocracy next year.
Every eligible voter who doesn't explicitly vote Democrat up and down the ballot is voting for autocracy.
Choose wisely.

Ford was an appointed VP who succeeded to the presidency. Presidential debates only date back to 1960. Ford was the only incumbent president to ever participate in a debate for his own nomination. The last incumbent president to be denied renomination was Chet Arthur in 1884.

This is why we all need ranked voting. Ideals are perfect for primaries but true elections - your vote needs to go all in on the candidate who most aligns AND is backed by a major party. Otherwise you just raise the odds for the worst candidate, even in an all blue state. Esp for fed elections.
