Also makes me wonder if Trump gifted her with that gold necklace w/ the initials FJB she has been wearing of late...one can only assume it means f*** Joe Biden.

So, anyone taking bets on how many votes we should expect this time? I am hoping what happened in the 1850s happens now...and they are forced to call for a plurality vote.

Well, considering they need *checks notes* 99 votes they don't have...maybe there are 5 moderates who will get fed up and cross the isle. I see where this vote is going already...and there seriously needs to be a rule change to allow for a plurality vote, at this point.

One has to wonder how long & how many votes this one will it come down to? And what is it gonna take before 5-6 moderate Republicans finally say enough is enough and decide to cross the isle? That is truly the only way I see this ending, at this point.

Never gonna happen since we are a united front. They need 99 votes...we only need 6. Wishful thinking, I know, but it could happen if a few moderate Reps decide they are sick and tired of the MAGAts' bullshyt.

When someone tells you who the are...believe them the first time. As Scalise, himself, has stated...he is David Duke, without the baggage.

You might want to re-think that. I already know one House Republican who will be voting present, against his own party and he has publicly stated so. He is also from my state. Election denials have consequences.

Most certainly...I am sure he is paying very close attn to what is happening to Boebert, who is in my district. She is already down in the polls and Frisch is outspending and out-campaigning her at every turn now.

You obviously don't know the Democratic party very well...Dems will not cross over to vote for Scalise. Republicans are divided and we have made it clear who we want as Speaker...and his name is Hakeem Jeffries.

Rule 26...unless, of course, the Republican Conference Committee decides to change the new rules enacted back in January. Don't know what rule 26 is? I will break it down for ya...if u have been indicted & may serve more than 2 yrs if convicted, you can not serve as Speaker of the House.

That or, imo, a National Popular vote. Person with the most votes win, end of story. I don't think the ranked choice system will work either...it just seems too easy to rig a winner.

True and even w/o the Green Party vote, she won...the problem, as I see it, is the antiquated 200+ year old Electoral College which was created during the time of slavery. IT must go.

I agree, but until we take both the House and Senate with significant numbers, nothing will change. Republicans, in both, will block every attempt to right the wrong, just to maintain their power.

It is, however...what do u think will happen to all her committee assignment? Republicans have already voted against her successor to replace her on the Judiciary committee...that, in itself, spells disaster as well as the inability for Dems to get anything accomplished or passed, w/o a replacement.

Saddens me also...I'm over 50 and this is not how politicians behaved when I was growing up. There was mutual respect and understanding. At one point, they ACTUALLY all worked together towards a common goal. I hope all our younger generations understand that this is NOT normal behavior.
