It was Frankie, in his role as elections chief, who never mentioned there was an issue until April, catching everyone by surprise. His evil cunning was no doubt deliberate. This man should resign & be charged for violating every principle of fair elections. Shame it's not a crime.

I wish I had a dollar for every person who told me in 2016 that "But the Supreme Court" wasn't a strong enough reason to "make" them vote for a "war-mongering neo-liberal Wall Street shill." I don't want to hear boo from any of them.

Are you frigging kidding me? The Washington Post needs to apologize for its kid-glove treatment of this jerk whom they constantly framed as a reasonable "moderate" Republican, hiding his extremist statements. I still say Youngkin needed to report their coverage as a donation in kind.

This is why we need transparency. Reporters have delved into this & suggested several innocent explanations, but the problem is we don't know. Full reporting on this should've been done prior to his confirmation or else his nomination should have been taken off the table.

This inspired me to look at the U.S.'s current standing in the world as far as gender parity in its national legislative body. It's currently tied for 71 with Iraq—a bit better than 2019 when it tied for 76 with Cabo Verde & Afghanistan. At least we're not Iran or Venezuela with 0 women.

I wasn't aware it had. Its history of misogyny is too long & entrenched for me to read it. Matt Taibbi was definitely the final straw. I hope he's gone now. As for the WaPo, in the last 2-3 years, it's raced to the right, in competition with the already right-wing NY Times.

My h.s. principal did this (unintentionally) when my English class voted on an "extra" book to read: "Lord of the Flies" or "Catcher in the Rye." We voted on "Catcher." Principal said we couldn't read it—swear words! I'd like to think it was genius to get us to read 2 books, but no. She was a prude.

It was so informal though that when I went to see the first thing —about the woman trying to make peace with those she wronged—someone came out & said "The room holds 20 & there are a lot more of you here. So you can either go see something else or squeeze in," Most people opted for "squeeze in."

How about charging Republicans in the Ohio legislature with "pandering obscenity" b/c what passes for lawmaking in this gerrymandered state IS an obscenity. I had a long conversation yesterday with my state rep about how they're trying to derail the anti-gerrymandering issue & THAT'S an obscenity.

I don't know about "sold out"—the entire "reservation" system was so screwed up you had no way of knowing what you signed up for & they had no record of who signed up for what. So I just walked into what I wanted to see & took a seat, even the tiny room Chris Szajbert did her piece in.

That's not inaccurate. Today's male country music is ALL party music: hot girl in teeny shorts in my pickup truck, case of ice cold beer, gravel road, driving down to the river. Marriage & babies rarer, casseroles not at all compared to all types of booze. 60% of country songs are about drinking.

The ONLY thing they can do to restore credibility is run 30 stories on Trump's virtually identical age. Otherwise they might as well admit they're just an arm of Trump's campaign.

I can't access the story but I assume it's some righty trying to make Democrats collapse in despair — the only way Trump will have any prayer of winning. Also, Biden's "polls" aren't awful — just the ones the media hypes.

I had that happen too. I had one I paid a lot for on the other side of our door, which bit the dust after a year or two. I got this one on sale at the end of the season and it's been there about 15 years now.
