Please watch this great explanation
"when we talk of privilege we imagine immediate unearned riches ... But white privilege and indeed all privilege is ... more about the absence of inconvenience ... when you have it, you really don't notice it, but when it's absent, it affects everything you do"

Thank you for sharing! It's a must-see talk and Sum of Us is a must-read book for a deeper dive into the issues introduced in the talk. I genuinely believe that our ability to move forward as a country hinges on white people hearing and understanding these messages.

She had PE & forgot she has a pair of sneakers we keep at school for PE (it's only been 7 months!) A friend loaned my kid her sneakers (she loaned sneakers to this friend in the past). Then she forgot to change back into her boots after PE and after that details get hazy 🙃

I'm a parent of kids in nearby schools who was in Oakland this morning. My mind is going to somewhat similar places. Is it safe to send kids to school tomorrow? Was this Act I?

In-person engagement is best but postcards are a good investment of our time and energy for folks who want to help out of state. Here are some data from a recent study in my state (PA):

WI Supreme Court! This race can eliminate conservative majority on that court & will likely have huge consequences country-wide.
Pls help spread the word to raise awareness, and if you are in WI pls pitch in to help register voters!

Wisconsin Supreme Court race holds high stakes for abortion, redistricting and 2024 | CNN Politics
What's typically an under-the-radar judicial election in Wisconsin has turned into a high-stakes and expensive fight for control of the state's Supreme Court -- with the future of abortion, voting rights and redistricting in this battleground state hanging in the balance.

I found my greatest power to be not in trying to convince Republicans of anything but in working hard to help enfranchise new voters. So many people face barriers to voting (enacted by Republicans) - we urgently need more people to help with voter registration efforts.

Working on voter registration strategy for the coming months (in Allegheny County, PA).
It is crucial we expand the electorate and enfranchise voters who face barriers.

💯! Are you in WI?
I'm in PA, best I can do is share knowledge & help folks get started if they never registered voters before.
It is crucial we help students register to vote. I know it's much harder for students to register in WI than in PA - we have to help young folks navigate these barriers
