This #gate caught my eye when I visited Grenada in 2006. There were many of these iron gates at the entrance to properties. This was a delight as I saw my name spelled out so nicely. #DailyPictureTheme

‘The Portlander’ breakfast at the PDX Downtown Waterfront Marriott. No mocking the sausage - I didn’t see that was included on the menu and it was meh. But super impressed with home fried sweet potatoes & arugula salad in the morning - I’m hooked! #SpoutibleFoodies #SaladForBreakfast

Room service breakfast with very fried egg, floppy bacon, delicious home fried sweet potatoes, awesome arugula salad, and crunchy jalapeno cheese biscuit. Surprise sausage, too. Room service comes in disposable cardboard with biodegradable utensils.

#DailyPictureTheme A work event on a luxury #cruise . My mom as my guest. Here she is in St Lucia with our ship directly above her.

I’ve shared before this trip was troubling for me. Such a contrast between the haves & have nots, hurricane damage & slow repair. My mom was seasick the whole week.

My mom at a viewpoint above the port in St Lucia. Behind her and down at the docks are 2 cruise ships. The smaller is the one we were on, The Silver Whisper. Blue sky, white clouds. Sy Lucia was lush with beautiful tropical rainforest, beaches and dramatic volcanic mountains. I bought some batik scarves at an art studio.

Way back machine -1981, when I spent time each week mixing, braiding & baking hundreds of challah. Humble Bagel Co - Eugene, OR. This is me. I think photo is by @lipsticktraces . I baked those baskets of bagels behind me, too. Ten years on that job. Seems so long ago.

Coastal wind & rain over a couple weeks resulted in a roof leak. This crack appeared over a couple hours & a few hours later a chunk of the ceiling fell to the floor leaving a gaping hole. Stormy conditions were still going for several more days. We had the #need for roof repair. #DailyPictureTheme

Crack in the ceiling when bad wind and rain storm caused roof damage. It collapsed (no injuries) a few hours later, leaving quite a mess.

For a number of years I was able to attend a fantastic art retreat (ArtFest) in Port Townsend, WA. I stayed on site in the old barracks and once in officer housing, then in a tiny rental in town. They filmed some of An Officer & a Gentleman here. Great memories.

I made it and the smell in the house is so sweet with apples, cinnamon and sugar. It’s very pretty and was easy to do! Honeycrisp, butter, brown and granulated sugar - what’s not to like? Taste test shortly.Thanks @firegoddess !

For the 2nd time this week this elk herd came through our neighborhood. About 18 of them, including a few younger ones. The other day they were right in our front yard before sunrise. A little scary because they are huge. Today they just hung out in this field next to us, standing pretty much silent

Simple. Just toss your crab ring off the dock, or take a boat into the ocean. Catch a crab. Throw into boiling water. Crack, pick and savor. That’s one of the joys of living on the Oregon coast.

Even caught a crab on the beach using a toothbrush.

Definitely an emotional support raccoon.

Have you seen that guy on YouTube who has a pack of raccoons and feeds them hotdogs? Same concern - are they cute and cuddly or maybe a bit creepy? (Personally, I love them!)

Our dad grew up in a small town in Washington state. A gift from my cousin were photos & letters he’d written to my aunt. It is amazing to see how his world view expanded as he traveled across the country & eventually to Morocco. 1952 was almost the end of the Korean War #VeteransDay
