Love the idea, but we’ll need to fix the SCOTUS first. Money = free speech, corporations are people, so corrupt congress people vote according to the wishes of the Oligarchs & corporations that own them.

Firehouse style propaganda. A steady intensive stream of misinformation which occupies opponents (that’s a lie!) but strengthens the message with the base. They do it so often people can’t right the wrong fast enough before the next set comes. Saps time & energy away from telling our message.

It’s never about telling the truth. It’s about telling (some) people what they want to hear. Challenging their facts is necessary but won’t change the minds of the base. It’s like religion, the cult will follow the idol & not allow reason to interfere with their beliefs/ identity.

The R party in MN is broke and a bit desperate. Bringing in tfg is grabbing at straws in hopes that his demented appeal to hate & division will solidify their base (in lieu of actually doing anything).

Exactly! When I learned there was a cap on ss deductions I asked why. No one knew how to answer but everyone just accepted that the affluent get to keep more of their money & the rest need to make do. Then people unironically criticize the poor for not doing their share to earn a better life.

In a related story, I was in the last class at my hs to learn how to use a slide ruler to do our calc’s in chemistry & physics. Basic hand held calculators were too expensive to expect students to own.

Then we used punch cards for the computer main frame in college. We carried huge boxes of cards.

Framing the debate
It’s a shame there is so much property damage but the senseless death and destruction on a massive scale is inexcusable

It’s a shame so many people are being killed and their way of life destroyed but the senseless destruction of property is inexcusable

People fitting the non-local (out of state) white male agitators inciting violence and property destruction were convicted post George Floyd murder. You needed to really pay attention to see the news coverage though. White police force resigned/ retired in big numbers, too.

Truth. Privileged people have pet dogs. They love them more intimately than fellow human beings, who suffer needlessly but distantly. Good reminder to self examine.

Probably the biggest non-financial volunteer opportunity to make our country better. Help underrepresented people to register (eg- low income, BIPOC, immigrants, young, & disabled), learn what’s in it for them, get them to the polls, and show them respect as fellow Americans.

Ronnie Ray-Gun lied constantly, w/o MSM pushback. The white base wanted to hear : America is great, the poor chose their fate, POC were lazy, immigrants untrustworthy, women’s movement evil, the rich were the heroes, massive military spending, etc.
He sent us down the wrong road at full speed.

Biden works hard to do what is right, especially for the general population not just the base. He’s a strong catholic who understands the separation of church & state. Roe v. Wade is the middle.

I agree. The calm measured interviews & reports NPR is known for gave an open mic to loony extremists who lied and defamed with impunity. Balance meant no fact checks or live rebuttals. It also meant challenging rational progressives who were pointing out the truth. True for so many MSM outlets.

The graphic shows where the government spends its money. MMT explains that your federal tax dollars pay for nothing. We live in a spend and tax country not vice versa. Fed Chairs have testified that the taxes we pay just get put in the furnace. Interesting way to better understand how this works.

One way is to interact with the gov’t directly, questioning your property taxes or a re-zoning. They say it’s random, but when I was contacted it was after my name wasn’t found on the voting list & I had to reregister (an honest mistake). I was screened for a murder one case, but not selected.
