There are some wonderful daily prompt themes here. Wondering if a #DailySwearingTheme might be nice?

We have such a rich diversity of cussers among us, surely it could bring much colour and depth to the lexical tapestry.

The Pythagorean Theorem, Newton's Third Law and Bernoulli's Principle walk into a bar.

Pythagoras theorem says, "I'll take the regular"

Newton's 3rd Law says, " I'll have what he's having"

Bernoulli's Principle says, "Keep it coming, bartender. I know you ain't got no strong stuff."

🤭💛

I don’t care what everyone else says. I think Spoutible users ARE smart enough to get brilliantly clever jokes.

You see, from what I can tell, Mr Bouzy is involved in a somewhat significant capacity in one of the Spoutible departments. So recommending he submit a ticket is rather redundant and absurd.

Enjoy.

Fuck Bill Maher. I never liked his unfunny ass anyway.
Ryan F @RyFor401
#BillMaher suggested President Joe Biden switch VP Kamala Harris for Ambassador Nikki Haley.
• This is racism, misogyny, and misogynoir.
• It was never about Biden's age.
• This was done by Abraham Lincoln with his VP Hannibal Hamlin for Andrew Johnson — which turned out HORRIBLY.
• GTFOH Bill Maher

In fact, various studies suggest that atheists are no more immoral than religious people. They’re also just as likely to participate in civic life as those who are affiliated with a religion and just as likely to engage in community service, according to Pew’s recent survey of religious “nones.”

There is a small group of people on this platform who believe because they were here from last February, they can dictate policy, make demands, and police other users. Apparently, now they think they can police me. Today, that is going to change.

You can be the best looking guy on Spoutible. Like really really fine. And still, it’s substance that counts.
Karen Springer @Springer
See, Mark thinks I follow him because he's funny. He is. And I do.
He might also think it's cuz he's handsome. He is, but irrelevant.
I also follow him cuz he's got thoughts to share. These are some good ones.

Some might say that this isn’t a serious thread. To them, I would bring awareness of the fact that potato leek soup is just a silly example of an issue that might cause debate. You could substitute a heartier soup - beef vegetable, for example - and the lesson remains the same.

Don’t be an ass.

Hey Mark, you can’t tell me to not be an ass.

I can. I did.

But that’s tone polic-

You can throw your tone policing in a sack. Don’t be an ass. Have all the differences of opinion you want. Don’t be an ass.

And finally they can choose to be an ass. Regardless of upbringing, background, or level of bacon crispness preference, being an ass is always a bad choice. Not only does it reflect poorly on them, it drags others down. It drags the platform down.

Another approach is they can choose to just keep their dislike to themselves, and move on. Always a solid move.

Another option is to be open to learning more about potato leek soup. I’m happy to have a discussion on it. And - here’s the kicker - maybe I’ll learn something new that I wasn’t aware of.

Thing is, that’s not potato leek soup’s fault.

Still, someone might try to challenge my stance on potato leek soup. That’s fine, they can, and I’ll win.

Why does this matter?

It matters because someone out there probably doesn’t like potato leek soup. Why? I don’t know. Maybe potato leek soup passed over their promotion at work. Maybe potato leek soup looked better in that dress.

Potato leek soup.

I just had some potato leek soup. I has some sourdough bread with butter to accompany it.

And it was delicious.

There’s a lot of discussion here lately. Discussion of whose voices are heard, and should be heard. Of what kind of protections are in place for those feeling bullied.

And while no one has said it outright, I can feel the vibe - “Hey, what’s Mark thinking? What’s Mark’s stance on all this?”

So if you’re having a challenging week, like the 1 in 32 of us are, don’t be afraid to crack a joke, mix it up a bit, maybe push a boundary even (probably not with Dani she’ll cut you). Because a little humour might just be the medicine you need to get by.

For example, if I wanted to, I could say something like “Kace, come on!” (but in a funny, humorous way) And Kace would have to be like “Sheesh, not much I can do about that. He’s having a challenging week. And anyway, it wasn’t that bad what he said.”

The thing about being the one having a challenging week is that you sort of become untouchable for a bit. It’s not without limits of course - you can’t be a complete jackass. But you can get away with stuff a bit more than normal.

Because at any given time 1 in 32 people is having a challenging week (Statsistics Canada). It may be due to health or work issues, personal or home life, or limited choices on Netflix.
