Oh! Essentially, people need to see your name. The more they see it, and the more accessible your website is, the better chance you have for winning. Thus, the digital ads, yard signs, canvassing, BUT don't underestimate the power of car painting. It gets your name out in such an easy way.

Lastly, fundraise, fundraise, fundraise. Start as soon as you are allowed to. Hold various events to make this happen, some for larger donors and some for smaller donors. You NEED the money.

Do not underestimate the power of digital advertising...get some ads out as soon as you can.

Find some good people who can help run your campaign. They'll be behind the scenes organizing your volunteers. I cannot say enough about volunteers. Boots on the ground to door knock, canvass, etc.

Get out to events. Hold them yourself. Be visible. TALK TO TEACHERS. They need to have a voice.

I helped run a school board campaign almost 2 years ago. Some tips: have a clear, consistent message. It should be at most 3 main goals. Make sure you start finding some volunteers NOW, including people who can help with the graphic design aspects of logos, websites, yard signs, social media posts..

Former elementary teacher here...read them to your kids anyway. Even if they are toddlers and may not fully grasp the topics, they'll understand the pictures and hearing YOU read will help them with THEIR reading when it's time.

The mornings my kids and I dance in the car on the way to school are so much fun and set things off on a positive note (even if it was a struggle to even get them out of the house on time.)

My kids are still in elementary school. Teaching Equity and representing ALL our kids matter so much and needs to start at an early age.

And I want to make sure to clarify, this was a display of books that her teacher created in the classroom for Women's History Month. Our School District actively works on teaching Equity and while they aren't perfect, it's amazing to see compared to our old school district that should be in FL.

Keep in mind that it is a very heavily gerrymandered state AND DeSantis has been running a very heavy marketing campaign touting his successes.

Absolutely. I'm devastated for those hard working teachers and for the students and families who will suffer because things won't change until too much damage has been done.

Happy to help! Does he know what level he's interested in? Elementary, middle or high school? I can help with eementary level, but won't be much support for middle or high school. I can put out feelers for those levels.

Can do! Do you have a specific topic in mind? There's a lot to cover, so I'm thinking that narrowing it down to what is typically taught at this point in the year would be best to start.

Freezing cold and snowing in Colorado! It was almost 60 yesterday and we'll be back in the mid to high 50s this weekend. It's a tease, though, because we'll get snow off and on until Mother's Day.

Asking you to specify which group you are speaking for does not mean I'm not an ally or NOT doing my work. You don't know me.

But who are you speaking for? Which group/community? Because you should not presume to speak for others and then yell at people who are trying to clarify what you mean.

Do NOT expect people to read your mind. It's a sad & devastating fact right now that in America we have far too many marginalized groups that are being oppressed. Each one has unique issues they are facing. You mentioned marginalized groups - which ones? LGBTQ+? BIPOC? AAPI? People with disabilities

And, for a platform like this, you do initial surveys to get feedback. Which is what happened.

Then, after your platform as grown and become more established, you tweak policies as needed. But to complain that @cbouzy isn't following solid procedures to set policies... it's ridiculous.

I mean, I'm genuinely wondering what he thinks is an appropriate way to set policies for a BRAND NEW platform.

Obviously, the vast majority of people on here understand that when you start a new business, new organization, new class, etc. you need to have rules and boundaries for everyone.

Oof... that's an interesting thought process. Is your argument, then, that 100% of the community needs to vote in order for policies to be legitimate?
