What concerns me (from the UK): If the US media continue to push this tale of ailing Biden/Dems but Biden wins the Election, Trump/MAGA will make hay with the idea 'it HAS to be a fix' - & be believed because it's such an outlandish overturning of the expectation the media set.

Agree, but now @cbouzy could just sweeten the deal by bringing the 'New Spout' button into line. Cos that's currently a drip/droplet not an Spout.

Welcome. What is going on over on Twitter? I don't seem to be able to see anything much without being told I don't have the rating. Working out whether I care lol

Odd. What was it about the time of the first Black President of the United States that caused this change?

TBF It took a long time, but the London production of 'Wicked' is no longer this way, and neither will the movie be.

I pester 'names' and large organisation to AT THE VERY LEAST put their short form content on SPOUTIBLE in addition to Twitter. So any mechanism that makes parallel publishing easier may help the migration. Otherwise, despite moral hand-wringing they seem addicted to the drama of Twitter.

Let's say your spouts were mainly campaigning, or consciousness raising, but not a specific appeal like a 'Go Fund Me. Or spending particular time to research or collate information. People who want you to keep on doing it might Tip you.

Welcome! There's an EDIT button (with 7 mins to edit once). No major algorithm, so you see what you choose to see; but if you're interested or want to boost something don't just LIKE it, but ECHO it. TIMELINE is who you follow; EXPLORE is everyone. The % is the likely danger someone's a Bot.

You probably won't know how alien it is (in the UK) to hear a politician condemn 'trickle down economics' as a sham - as Biden has. No politician hoping for high office would dare say it, as they'd expect to be destroyed by the press. We also have nobody to touch Buttigieg's eloquence & clarity.

I'm keen it grows to the point where loads of people I don't agree with feel they NEED to be on here too. Difference of opinion but within bounds of Community Rules that Twitter professed to believe in, but rarely upheld even before Musk. Here we have many of those safeguards put in our own hands.

I think a 'problem' with Spoutible is that it may have more capacity to disappoint, whereas on other platforms the idea of having high hopes was in the bin from the very start! But let's keep our expectations of this place high, and keep echoing the good : )

Will the facts of this performative product be enough to halt the UK's rapid descent into 'Angertainment' television? Sadly, unlikely.

I haven't yet had to delete anyone's replies, or block them; but I'd hope that would make a difference. I'm sorry if it hasn't achieved that for you. It's a good feature that blocked accounts also can't carry on in a thread you were in & talk behind your back. Hope things do pick up for you.

I'm not asking for anything to be added to Spoutible.
I'm just interested in whether Musk has recently unplugged something in order to lock people into his own ecosystem. Also interested in whether there are ways to help some people to transfer without having to go cold turkey on the bird.

Maybe. I was wondering if that developers' thing Musk unplugged recently was precisely for the purpose of stopping 'decks' and 'add ons' that make it possible to feed the platform from another source. i.e. locking people into the Twitter ecosystem only. I may be wrong.
