If you want to 404 a pro-death penalty "fiscal conservative', point out that the path from conviction to execution is massively more expensive than just leaving them in a cell for the rest of their natural live.

I'm glad your content involving underage sex isn't explicit enough to give you that concern.

Tagging on cuz it's a good place to do it: if you're ever feeling like your one vote doesn't count, one of my local Dems lost by 49 votes out of the 3000 cast.

Gotta admit, I couldn't listen while I was at work, but that was my general expectation, particularly about Spoutible's "seems fine until you start asking basic questions" TOS for explicit media.

I certainly wasn't intending to imply otherwise. Just realizing that the closest I've come to filth in my social media is some fairly PG thirst traps on TikTok.

Why? What motive do a bunch of writing accounts have for "wanting Spoutible to fail"?

Yep. My Twitter usage is a mix of politics, fuzzy animals, nerdiness, and writing communities, which I guess get enough engagement on their own that unsolicited porn doesn't break through.

Actually, Gender Queer, Tango Makes Three, and Lawn Boys are probably better examples of some of the books being threatened right now.

I think it's being fed from the offline book banning where bad actors are classifying anything that references LGBTQ+ as explicit by manipulating vague policies. My area is dealing with a particularly nasty push of the nonsense right now - Dragon wings, Fault in Our Stars, etc are currently at risk.

What a nasty piece of work. The only person in the conversation talking about bringing in pornography was her, but she put words in my mouth and blocked me when I called her out for being insulting. I guess some people just don't want to leave Twitter habits.

... No? It's like denial of service and bot attacks. If you know it's going to happen, what's the point of waiting for the chaos to unfold to start to prepare for it?

Let's take a look at Twitter's policy on explicit content: They outline what is considered problematic, list the standards on how that's determined, and lay out the expected repercussions for violations of the policy. That's what I mean by asking for more specifics.

Right? I would have absolutely expected that tweet to be unacceptable based on the TOS and complaints about "allowing porn".

In context of claims that people were "pushing to include porn" they're very different actions. How do you expect people to follow the rules if they're open to interpretation?
