Yes and our road and our lake and river accesses, and our beaches, etc……… summer has become my least favourite season.

And if it’s anything like the touristy lake where I live, it and every other sentient being breathes a sigh of relief.

You’re right. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I should know that by now. I used to be married to a narcissist and one of our sons is the same. I’d forgotten that everything was always my fault. Thanks for the reminder.

I’d say if you see a bird and are curious about it, you’re a birder. You don’t have to wander around with a funny hat, binos, and a notebook to be called a birder.

Well, not here in British Columbia. Not sure about south of the border. Plenty of beautiful goldenrod, though. I should have recognized it. I had a plant next to my front steps to help deter the carpenter ants that were munching on the little shack I lived in when I first lived here.

You are absolutely right! It was ragweed, not goldenrod that made my life miserable. I moved west, across the Rocky Mountains where there is no ragweed 50 years ago. No more asthma!

Possibly. But I’ve never seen them in a large flock. They are pretty solitary or live in pairs. I’ve seen large flocks of crows, never ravens. That’s a good thing around here as the ravens are quite predatory. They’d be kind of terrifying in a big group.

Yes. I have supported WCK many times since I first heard about the work they do, love the way they prepare and deliver meals, involving local restaurants and communities. And often they are first on the scene.

This was referred to a lot when Pope Francis visited Canada’s arctic a couple of years ago. The Inuit were asking for him to denounce the Papal Bull, Declaration of Discovery of 1493. This was the first I’d heard this term. I have a lot to learn.

It was a friend who was a father of girls who suggested it to me when my boys were small. I was complaining about the messy misses and he said, “teach them to pee sitting down. It’s mothers who toilet train their kids.” And so I did and there were no complaints.
