I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience. Ours wasn't great either. I'm told that the technology has dramatically improved in recent years, so I'm hopeful.

To be honest, if I were talking to them personally I would empathize with the result of a poor decision. We are all capable of missteps. This was a really big one that, as you say, has tremendous impact on 8 children.

I live in Michigan and drive a Fusion Hybrid. I don't feel the need of an SUV, but I don't do any off road driving, and I rarely have to go out in the worst weather. It does fine even during a snow storm. I wonder if we are trained to think we need something bigger

I'm actually not trying to dismiss those people you mentioned, My post was more about the types of laws being passed and how they affect demographics. I am very sad about the loss of intellect and helping professions in those states, and the resulting issues will adversely affect the whole country

It is so frustrating when "mental illness" is used as the excuse. This line stigmatizes many people struggling to get through each day who would never act in these heinous ways.

I apologize that I missed your previous support for Palestinians. I did look first to see if that was part of your Spouts, but I'm not an expert in those searches. I didn't mean to be as harsh as you seem to have taken it, but I have seen a lot of one sided discussions that concern me.

We are getting push back on ideas like this in my city, too. I wonder if there is an answer in making small business loans available to anyone willing to try? I would love a move away from the large chain stores

This is no doubt a horrible act. My heart is aching for those innocent people. However, anyone who has never been vocally outraged about the humanitarian crimes against the Palestinians should maybe be cautious about throwing shade.

I completely agree. There are good options and suggestions to turn this around, but many people who live here don't want change. Also, anything that lowers that trend makes existing home owners feel like they are losing potential gains.
