The full impact of the virus’s arrival is not yet known, but scientists are raising concerns about possible “catastrophic breeding failure” of the region’s fragile wildlife populations.

The virus was found in populations of a scavenging bird called brown skua on Bird Island,

I don't think most of us realised what the climate scientists were dealing with, until 3 years into COVID. Misinformation, disinformation & gaslighting 101. They have been sceaming into the void, whilst most people are switched off from anything uncomfortable, more worried about self-gratification.

And the condition may be triggered by an acute bacterial or viral infection. Here in Australia (winter) COVID & flu are rife, along with all the other winter usuals at higher rates than usual. Strep A & RSV to name but a few.

The COVID Twitter community has turned on itself, is blighted by trolls and becoming a little unrealistic in my humble opinion. I miss those doctors and scientists who provide some superb information but not enough to deal with the toxicity, which many of them sadly have to put up with.

As a newbie on Spoutible I am loving the diversity of spouters I'm engaging with. I had a large but very narrow following on Twitter as mostly posting on COVID. It was rare for people to go off topic. This is a refreshing change for me.

Cho says outbreaks of children's viral infections normally occur seasonally. He added that it is rare to have outbreaks of several types at the same time.

Cho says he has seen dual coronavirus and RS virus cases. He says that the viruses are showing no signs of being contained at the moment.

He forgets where he is on stage, he clearly has dementia at some level. He's an elderly man unfit for purpose. Backing out of Afghanistan wasn't the issue although it should have never happened like that. It was the complete screw up of how it was handled, risking lives of troops & Afghan people.

It's impressive already and I've just seen you have an edit option for posts, better than Twitter.

He clearly has dementia on some level. He's an 80 yr old man unstable on his feet, suffering with confusion and forgetfulness. What he did in Afghanistan is unforgivable. He's not up to the job. I'm very much to the left of politics but left means little in real terms these days.

I've left Twitter so many times because it's so toxic but always went back because had no alternative. Since joining Spoutible have left for good. It's sad as have made so many friends there but toxic is an understatement. Really enjoying Spoutible.

Yes anywhere will sadly attract trolls but Twitter is controlled by someone who gets off on power & misinformation. It was really bad before Musk but he has crucified it.

Yes I really like the feel of Spoutible and it will be the only platform I'll use, I did try Mastodon but that is the most ridiculous set up ever.

I did indeed! Twitter just isn't a nice place to be. It's not just the management, the users were getting worse by the day and the trolls relentless. It's a very toxic platform now.

I just appreciate a really good workable alternative to Twitter. I think Spoutible is impressive so far and it's early days. Mastodon in my humble opinion isn't user friendly. Spoutible is!!!!! Twitter is a horrible place to be, Elons personal propaganda machine.
