I understand coming from the empathic space. How vulnerable it makes us. I do set aside a very specific 10 to 30 minutes when I need it, of absolutely being a brat and kicking the clouds. I see it as a pressure release.

Yes, I am a boomer on the younger end of that demographic. I saw a live murder in real time on television when Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald. My mom was really good about discussing this with a preschooler. No wonder I love the show Mad Men so much!

Did anyone's family watch footage of the war in Vietnam while eating dinner as a child? My family did, and it seems grotesque and dysfunctional looking back on it. There were daily body counts for both sides, as if it were a sports event too.
