A fascinating article from one of my favorite magazines! Thanks for sharing. With my centrist parents, I find that introducing them to people they might consider others, either in person or via a memoir, helps them at least to expand lines to include a broader group of people and not other them.

I wonder if it was the same storm that dumped a foot of snow in Maine on Saturday. It’s very pretty!

Perfect! In Maine we have a prickle of porcupines but they are usually solitary creatures for obvious reasons.

Discouraging news, but I’m relieved to hear I’m not the only one still masking indoors, although sometimes it feels like that.

Thank you. You’d think people would remember what happened last time Jews, LGBTQ, and other “undesirables” were targeted. Germany teaches and respects history way better than America does, especially in certain states.

Unfortunately true. After living abroad in countries with strict gun control, I will never understand American complacency on this issue.

Thanks, Rosetta! Those tall white pines are quite typical of an old growth forest in Maine.

I’m sorry for your loss. Your aunt sounds amazing to have survived so much and to learn that many language. Refugees are a gift to the countries who accept them.

Hi Jennifer! Your bio made me laugh. Being easily seasick pushed me away from a career in marine biology although I enjoyed a summer doing dorsal fin photo ID of dolphins as a teen. This morning on NPR I was concerned hearing about research showing how climate change is hurting phytoplankton.

Not a bad idea. I'm regretting including my twitter handle on my last set, pre EM. I do like a physical card to pass out when I'm painting outside and onlookers are curious about my work. It's less disruptive than taking out my phone.
