Thank you. I had to search for a good memory in the midst of a lot of trauma and pain. I'm grateful I was able to find one.

I drove everyone crazy asking to take me fishing. Grandpa threw a big rock to break a hole in the ice on the pond then he'd throw out the line on my cane pole with a bobber attached. We never caught a thing but I will never forget that he took me. ❤️

Summer nite, I'm 12 - old enough to watch my 3 younger brothers while our parents were down the street w/neighbors. We caught all the fireflies we could in jars, let them loose in the house, turned out all the lites, & watched from the sidewalk. Big trouble ensued, 100% worth it. #OhToBeAKidAgai

Playing in the woods behind my house, building forts with the other kids, and climbing alone up the two story tall rock to sit and think as I looked at the tree tops. #OhToBeAKidAgain

We'd go up to Canada most summers and hang out at the lake with our Canadian pals. We'd go to the little shop by the shore and play endless pinball games while eating banana flavored OgoPogo pops.

Ice skating through the trees in the field across from my house after a huge rainstorm followed by a quick freeze turned the whole place into a private skating rink.

Suddenly 1 of our friends yelled out "To some people, its blink not wink" And man did we all turn away from my brother fast, laughing all the way.
We got into so much mischief there. #OhToBeAKidAgain

My mom used to work for TWA and got cheap tickets (space-available). Several trips were to a dude ranch in southern AZ in the middle of August.
We met some other cool peeps there. We learned to play Murder, where one person had to wink to "kill" you. My brother couldn't wink.

I want to add, it was the restoration of the bike that gave me joy. We spent 3 weekends together making it better than new. Perfect metal flake green, girls Schwinn stingray. One of the very rare times I got to have time with my dad.

#OhToBeAKidAgian I was 8 and visiting my dad for weekends. I got a junk bike for $1. We rebuilt it and it was cherry. I rode it down the street, and I came walking back. My dad asked where the bike went. I said I gave to the sisters down the street since they don't have toys. He just nodded.

#OhToBeAKidAgain and be able to take a walk to the back of our farm with my Dad and the cows. He would teach me the name of every tree and answer my endless questions with the patience of a Saint. And, if I got tired of walking, he would carry me on his shoulders.

Summer trips to Minn. meant begging Grandpa to get his old '40 Ford running. When he succeeded we 5 grandkids would pile in and go to town for gas then take turns driving wherever we pleased (all unsupervised). I can still see the gravel roads through the holes in the floorboard. #OhToBeAKidAgain

#OhToBeAKidAgain Lived on a lake in Minnesota as a kid. Used to love exploring the woods on the opposite shore. We’d go looking for deer so we could chase them. And pretend we were voyageurs.

12ish, living in a trailer park, with a big field between us and another trailer park. Sandlot softball and 3rd base as a big bramble bush. Sliding into home ok, never into 3rd!

Our houses were built on an old farm. There was undeveloped land along the edge of the homes where kids would play. A ditch where we’d catch tadpoles. Trees turned into forts and secret spaces. Even our own baseball field.
Parents would send us out to our freedom play spots. #OhToBeAKidAgain

Grew up on a dead-end hill. Before they made a cul-de-sac, we made ramps of dirt and road our big wheels and green machines over them until someone broke something. Then tried to see who would break something next.

Walking to the corner store with my grandfather on summer mornings. He bought himself the daily paper & I got 25-50¢ to buy something for myself. Usually got a snow cone. #OhToBeAKidAgain

Welp, I have my first interview in an hour. I’m probably 75% qualified & likely don’t have chance (though the place is quite aligned w/my values), so framing it it as opportunity to actually do a job interview because it’s been a couple decades since doing so. 🤘🏻❤️🌀

Even though Franklin D. Roosevelt faced significant health challenges, nobody ever told him to "sit this one out." The true difference today is that we have a Black female vice president. Pundits and journalists are attempting to mask their racism and misogynoir with questions about Biden's health.

You always post the most fascinating articles, Alberto. Thanks. Like, you I remain curious about so many divers things. The rocks I climbed as a youth were old lava flows revealed by erosion. Now I live where kettle holes carve by receding glaciers are all around. Wonders abound if one just looks.

"Rocks tell stories of past worlds. They tell of landscapes and seascapes inhabited by dinosaurs and giant marine reptiles, by trilobites and corals – even the endless microbial layers of primeval Earth. But these stories can stretch much further."
