Sex/gender is not that simple. Why isn't there room for all of us on this small blue dot? 2/2

It amazes and saddens me how people who gain a position of influence so often use that influence in negative ways. J.K. Rowling, I am sure, believes she is speaking for women, but she ignores actual biological science. 1/2

Incorrect. The PA State Senate is Republican majority, and continues to block bipartisan legislation from the House. PA remains a swing state due to gerrymandered, Republican -safe districts. The House staying blue is still a good sign, but we have work to do for 2024 general election.

They featured some great musicians, too. I know Mason Williams (Classical Gas) was one, and they hosted a treasury of folk artists, including black-listed Pete Seeger. Such good memories.

Maybe. My guess is they'll try out Blue Sky, Threads, et. al., to see if their reach and audience are a better fit. That's if the head honchos listen to the marketing people, that is. Social media is not the best place for them to spend ad dollars right now. Too much flux.

The idea that they did not know any of this is laughable. At least some of the Sedition Caucus knew who they were nominating. He's either a tool or a complete stealth leader. It's all aimed at government disruption in prep for TFG's return.

Abortion rights are going to draw large numbers of women (and men who support them) to the polls, no matter how many voter purges they try (happened in both Ohio and VA), or how few ballot drop boxes they allow, or how few early voting days. Keep pushing, GOP. #FAFO

Then I learned that people who own some of those polling organizations were politically active, and there was erosion of those practices in order to get the results they wanted.

And they wonder why people don't trust organizations anymore...

I remember when there were one or two polling firms, and they used supposedly good practices on framing questions to avoid bias or prompting, getting a good demographic mix of respondents, getting large enough samples, etc.

Philly is a tough city to lead. I wish her well, but guarantee she'll endure a baptism of fire from people looking to prove her incapable. Lots of issues on her plate, plus the approaching "semiquincentennial," the U.S.' 250th birthday.

Growing up in rural, white America, I never knew until later in life that Black people couldn't get emergency care at most hospitals, and am (barely) shocked that racially biased care is still happening.

I relied on the Scholastic book fairs for inexpensive paperbacks. Loved one called "On Your Toes, Susie," about an aspiring ballerina and a French girl who becomes her competition for a dance role. And from the library, "Blue Willow" by Doris Gates, about an itinerant farm worker family.

I'm in Southeastern Pennsylvania, pretty strongly blue, but since the right started with "parental rights," lots of suburban Philadelphia counties are leaning purple or red at the local level. School board takeovers driven by Moms for Liberty. It's insidious.

Remember that this sort of policing of your neighbors is how Fascism rose to power in Europe in the 1930s. We fight it now, or pay the price latter for dismissing the bullies as pathetic. Only if their leaders are kept from power...

This is the worst part of the push to ban books. People feel privileged to come into school districts where they neither have children nor actually live to challenge books or curricula. Strongly leaning fascist, dudes.
