Is this thing on? For my first spout, I'd like to share this lovely spider beetle with everyone: Mezium affine, in the family Ptinidae.

For my first spout, here's a link to a blog post about all the insects I found inside a bag of Trader Joe's figs. Two species of wasps, lots of caterpillars, and a beetle. #nature #entomology #figs https://colinpurrington.co...

Katherine Johnson - what an idol!

She was in high school by the age of 10. In 1961, she calculated the trajectory of NASA's first trip into space. She was so consistently accurate; when NASA began to use computers, they had her check the calculations to ensure they were correct.

Here's a cute echinoderm. This is a blastoid, Devonoblastus, which has 5 point symmetry like starfish and sand dollars. They would have small hair like filaments to grab food and a thin stem to life them off the sea floor. They are similar to crinoids or sea lilys.
